Salary: £32,324 - £37,095 dependent upon qualifications and experience

Description


We are currently looking for an experienced Tool Store Coordinator to manage the tooling store and ensure that all items are signed in and out and ensure they are fit for purpose by carrying out visual checks, non-technical repairs and arrange external calibration as per the required schedule.

Roles Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Tool Register - number any new tooling that is bought and add to tool register.
  • Control Tool store – issue all tooling and each week, liaise with the Production supervisors on a Friday morning to collect and rezone all tooling in the tool store. This will include tackle and strapping.
  • Control Quarantine Area – Ensure on a weekly basis that the quarantine area is clear and all material has been checked and signed out by the Project Manager / Engineering Dept. Thereafter it is released to Stores to be zoned and located accordingly. File all quarantine release brodie controlled documents
  • Raise requisition forms for all offsite requirements and consumables for tooling.
  • Order PPE – Annual Footwear Issue, Corporate Clothing and record the monthly issue to give to HR Manager for payroll deduction.
  • Order and Issue Overalls – liaising with supplier and ensure that overalls are issued and collected during onboarding/offboarding
  • Support stores person with offloading / loading any pallets for deliveries/collections.
  • Waste management - coordinating the removal and/or installation of additional waste receptacles.
  • Issuing and controlling work permits for visiting contractors.
  • Manage and control the portable gas cannisters – checking stock, ordering stock etc.
  • Collect the tools up from around the site(s), arrange dispatch to authorised calibration vendor and pack them for collection. On receipt of the calibrated tooling, check the tooling, book it in, zone it in the tool store and upload the calibration certificated to the Calibration Folder.  Any tooling that fails calibration, must be reported to Production Supervisors and the tooling quarantined.  Any tooling that needs repair prior to calibration, again report to Production Supervisors, obtain an authorised requisition for the cost of repair, and organise for tooling to go to the appointed repair centre / vendor.
  • Book 6 monthly / annual services and LOLERS as and when directed by Production Supervisors / HSQE Manager. 
  • Any other adhoc duties as directed by management.
  • Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are in place and observed.
  • Promote Brodie Engineering's behavioural expectations by enhancing and supporting working relationships within the business, customers and external agencies.

Key Relationships & Contracts

  • Reporting directly to Stores Supervisor
  • Working closely with:  Facilities, Stores, Production, Procurement and HSQE.

Key Skills required for the role

  • Experience of working in stores/tool room.
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing/warehousing setting.
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written.
  • Must be a proficient Excel user.
  • Competent PC skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proactive, positive approach and ability to work on own initiative.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication at all levels.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Forklift licence desirable but not essential.
  • Driving Licence is essential.
